Speak Out for Abstinence Theresa Divine is a member of the newly formed Board of Abstinence Educators. They need volunteers to speak about abstinence to schools and churches. No education is needed – just a passion for this topic. Training sessions will be provided and there will be an informational meeting in May.
Statistics to show that it is successful: **From 1995 to 1998, abstinence education funding was increased and the teen birth rate began its sharpest decline.
**African American girls ages 10-14 have the lowest birth rate in history.
**The birth rate for all teens between the ages of 10-14 is the lowest in 40 years.
**The birth rate for teens between the ages of 15-19 is the lowest in 20 years.
If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up on the information table in the foyer. For more information, please see Theresa Divine or call her at 284-6838.

Helping Hand Would you be willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need? Sometimes we have senior citizens in our church that might need a ride to the doctor or need some odd jobs done around the house. If you would be willing to help in this area, write Helping Hand on a piece of paper along with your name and phone number and drop it in the offering plate.
